Post CutterSlade23 question, Douglas Freese (scriptwriter) answer
Hello!

Thanks to Facebook channel of OUTCAST-Spain, Douglas Freese cheered up to answer me kindly a few questions, which all the fans we always think.

Here I show this little interview:

Question 1:
1) It looks like the temples of SHAMAZAAR that they have a special door with a symbol. These doors was it foreseen that will keep something in his interior?

Image

Answer 1:
No, that was just a spot left open for a texture to be placed. I can't recall what the symbol meant.

Question 2:
2) In OKAAR the river ends in a species of lagoon with a lot of depth. Was any aquatic animal thought of including?

Image

Answer 2:
Yes, we had an idea or two for something to go there, but ran out of time

Question 3:
3) In OKAAR, it exists an enormous daoka and stones faces in the soil, which make remember an ancient civilization (The Ancient, named in the legends of Adelpha). The builders of the daokas and the technology of Adelpha, was human beings or aliens also?

Answer 3:
The ancients were an alien race as well, but more human looking than the Talan. That was a sneak peek at one we likely would have shown in Outcast 2.

Question 4:
4) I read in a Spanish magazine, that the game in the beginning had a very different argument.
- The action was moving to a virtual world used by the North American military men, to train his marines. Worlds which secrets concerning production, it have a creative genius, the teacher Xue, which he has decided to betray to his controls, shutting itself up likewise in these universe, and threatening to spread the information of the virtual field of tests to the enemy, unless a million dollars is paid to him. Our task, it is easy to imagine.
Who or those who decided to change the argument of 'Outcast'? Or... What factors did it influence for this change?

Answer 4:
Yes, I barely remember that story. It changed when I was hired, then eventually I was given the task to rework the entire backstory and characters.

I would like that the members of this forum, were joining the group of OUTCAST-Spain in Facebook, it is the only one that many info have in this network of the original game, and to the creators of OUTCAST (Franck Sauer, Douglas Freese, Lennie Moore). And ask in the forum about all his doubts.Nevertheless I will keep on entering this forum.

I understand that everybody does not like Facebook, but used good is a tool better than the 'book of signatures' (that sincerely for me is to lose the time) ... if we want to ask for certain things.

Greetings from OUTCAST-Spain! :ulukai: :work:
