Artistic insight – The official Okasankaar Artbook
Hey there!
It’s quite a long time ago, since we last posted some news here. But don’t worry…we are still there and are currently working on the first in-game region “Okasankaar”. As we are still in the concept phase at the moment, we decided to give you an artistic insight in the form of an “Artbook” on how Okasankaar looks in the minds of our concept artists.
The Artbook features drawings from all our concept artists and shows as well landscapes, flora & fauna and even some talan sketches directly out of Okasankaar. The artists were able to write a short comment to their pictures and in addition, the Artbook is being produced in high-quality to give you the possibility to print it out and enjoy it on real paper also

Brilliant guys, absolutely loved it!
From the architecture to the talan and the fauna i am really impressed with the artwork. It really gave me a feel for the environment in Okasankaar, even brought it to life in some ways.
Question: Can we expect to see more of these artbooks for each region? Also is there to be more flora and fauna added the the environment of Okasankaar?

We are planning to create an artbook for each region, that’s right. Compared to original Outcast there will be more vegetation in Okasankaar while the plants will match the rest of the landscape of course.

Beautiful. I’m hoping to get some of this printed up into a nice book. It’d be great to see this for each region, and perhaps some of these images full-resolution for wallpapers.

To tell the truth, I never really liked Okasankaar in OC, but your concept of a contrast between rich and poor people in the region is very interesting

Are all the plants and animals getting talan names, like in OC? =) Would be kinda lame if they didn’t.
The class contrast (rich vs. poor) seems promising. I really hope they’ll despise each other and we get to choose between doing quests for the rich part of town or the poor part and get to benefit differently depending on which faction we chose and the other ones aren’t as willing to help us because of it. ^^
Yeah, but don’t expect an advanced faction system like in the Gothic series … that also wouldn’t be really Outcastish

There will be no zeedogs in the game? You wrote “the sea has withdrawn”, and the artbook doesnt contain them.
I wouldnt mind, they were a bit annoying for me
